I liked Desired's self-titled release very much, so had to get "Lovestory" as well, its style feels the closest. Desired must be a fan of the 80ies "Cat's Eye" anime, as tracks 1 and 8 are from its soundtrack.

When the topic of future funk comes up (especially regarding avoiding its homogenization in recent years), people should really be talking about Dante Mars Ajeto a lot more, in particular this album. Despite coming out all the way in 2015, there’s a lot of stylistic decisions that stem from artists such as Lancaster_ from a couple of years earlier, with glitchier, more focused chopping techniques. In particular, the opening track is an example of just about everything right to do.
